Sweet & Spicy Bourbon Glazed Brussels Sprouts

Crispy | Smoky | Sweet-Heat Balance

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • ¼ cup bourbon

  • 2 tbsp maple syrup

  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar

  • ½ tsp smoked paprika

  • ½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • Salt & black pepper, to taste

  • ¼ cup crispy bacon bit

Instructions

  1. Preheat & Prep: Heat oven to 425°F (220°C). Toss Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper, then spread on a baking sheet.

  2. Roast: Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway, until crispy and golden brown.

  3. Make the Glaze: In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Stir in bourbon, maple syrup, balsamic vinegar, smoked paprika, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.

  4. Glaze & Serve: Toss the roasted Brussels sprouts with the bourbon glaze. Sprinkle with crispy bacon bits and serve immediately.

Chef’s Tip

For extra crispiness, broil the Brussels sprouts for the last 2-3 minutes. Also, a handful of toasted pecans or blue cheese crumbles can add another layer of complexity.

This dish ties in beautifully with the bourbon flavors in both the steak marinade and the cocktail, creating a seamless, flavor-packed meal.
